"Stand Back"

Choreography by Katarzyna Skarpetowska
Music: Nador Weisz
Costumes: Mia McSwain
Originally Commissioned by Hubbard Street 2002

Stand Back a piece which pushes a dancer's physical limits. It is immensely charged and speedy and most importantly full of attitude! It basically follows the wild temperament of the music by Nandor Weisz, a Hungarian composer who infused his music with strangely Latin flavors. For an audience member viewing the work it is like a flash of thunder.  The piece was made for Hubbard street 2 after winning the 2002 National Choreographic Competition.
