METdance announces our second ever Teaching Training Workshop. This is an innovative and interactive workshop designed for teachers and educators looking to refresh, expand, share and develop their existing codified dance knowledge. Led by accomplished educators and artists, this pedagogy based experience will focus on ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary techniques. The METdance Teacher Training Workshop is designed to provide both interactive, observer and lecture based teaching techniques for multiple levels of students ability and age while getting to network and discuss best teaching methods. A certification will be given to every participant at the end of the two days notating the 10 hours of training and what courses were given to count as Professional Staff development hours.

Technique Class- This traditional dance class will serve as your warm-up for the day. This at- your- own pace and level class will provide you the opportunity to engage in the class as a student as well as experience a teaching style designed to give you innovative ideas to increase your teaching methods.
Teaching Dance Techniques- This conversation and interactive based class will give you the opportunity to learn how to break down common issues found in technique class. Additionally, you will learn exciting ways to build upon exercises and combinations that are important for training.
Building Dance Fundamentals- This class is similar to a progressions class! You will focus on learning ways to create exercises that focus on strength and core training, traveling, transitions and more.
Breakout Session #1 Example- Intro To Creative Dance and Ballet Teaching Methods- This class is designed for the babies and beginners! You will learn how to make the most out of basic ballet training for ages 3-6. Activities that provide training but keep the focus of fun and excitement. Shared music playlists, games and how to innovate your combo classes are all addressed in this class.
Breakout Session #2 Example- How to write a Lesson Plan- Talk with educator, Jennifer Mabus about how to write out a lesson plan and ways to adapt it while staying with what you want to accomplish for the week and year.
