Each August HMD presents an adult studio showcase at the Heinen Theatre in Midtown Houston!

For this showcase our adult faculty create short dances for interested students to perform for their regularly scheduled class(es). Rehearsals start in early June and run through the performance in August. The choreography is crafted from class material through a series of rehearsals, usually after class and last 30 mins.

Participation requires regular attendance in class as well as rehearsals. Schedule and registration information is available below. It is highly recommended that if you are not already regularly attending the class(es) you want to showcase in that you start attending class asap!

Classes are purchased separately, and regular attendance is required for showcase participation as material for the performance will be developed in class. Class fees are not included in the Rehearsal, and Performance.

Additionally costumes are handled individually by the instructor, some classes do an additional require a costume fee.

In addition to regular weekly attendance in class and rehearsal students need to be available for the full production schedule that begins July 31st and continues through the Performance on August 7th.

Rehearsal and Performance Fee: 

• $160 Rehearsal and Performance Fee for the 1st class

• $80 for each additional class you wish to showcase in.

• This fee does not included weekly class fees or Showcase tickets.

Costume Fee: $80 per showcase class

Showcase Registration and Payment: $50 NON-Refundable deposit per class you wish to showcase in, is required at the time of registration. You will receive an invoice for the balance.

METWORK MEMBERS

• METWORK and METWORK plus Members receive a 10% discount applied to their invoices. 

• Costume fees are not included in the discount.

• Unlimited METWORK Members can participate in one showcase (additional showcase fees will be invoiced) at no additional charge, unless they are current Ensemble Members. 

• Any costume fees associated with the showcase are not included and will be invoiced. 

• METWORK members are encouraged to reach out to classes@metdance.org with clarifying questions. 

Once your deposit is paid you will receive an email invoice for the balance.

All Rehearsal and Performance Fees are Due June 1st 2025

• Class fees are separate and can be purchased using class cards, or single class purchases as you go. (METWORK member classes do apply.)

• Rehearsal and Performance Fee includes all rehearsals starting the week of June 2nd through through production week and performance. 

Tickets will go on sale in early May! Tickets will be available for purchase on the HMD website!
