Honors Reception* to commemorate HMD’s Director of Programming jhon r. stronks’ 20 years of Artistry and Service to Houston Met Dance and the Greater Houston Dance Ecosystem.
The Sunflower Ball serves as the annual fundraiser to benefit Houston Met Dance’s mission, vision and programming.
Tickets: For this year's event, we've created a sliding-scale ticket model to make the celebration more accessible. Please choose the ticket level that best fits your budget. Every ticket includes the same event experience, and those who purchase at higher levels help make lower-cost tickets possible for others.
Sponsorships: Our work as a nonprofit is made possible through the support of community partners. Your support will help provide scholarships, fund performances, and ensure that dance remains a vibrant, accessible part of Houston’s cultural landscape. Together, we can keep the arts alive and thriving for the next generation.
Pollinator $100 - Pollinators include bees, birds, bats, butterflies, moths, and beetles—they move pollen between flowers, enabling plants to produce seeds and fruit.
Blossom $75 - Blossoms are the adult stage of the flower focused on reproduction through pollination, often relying on insects, wind, or water to transfer pollen.
Bud $50 - Buds are the early, protective stages of the flower, setting the stage for reproduction.
Germinator $35 -Germinators facilitate the conditions under which, the seed absorbs water, the shell splits, and roots grow downward, while a shoot pushes upward, using stored energy
Seed $25 - Seeds contain the genetic information for a new plant and is often stored in the ground, waiting for the right conditions to grow.

Over the past two decades Houston Met Dance’s Director of Programming jhon r. stronks has been diligently tending the garden that cultivates the blossoms that make the ever evolving bouquet that is Houston Met Dance.
Houston Met Dance is Honored to celebrate jhon as a Queer Artist whose independent choreographies and Collaborations that have made a lasting impact on Houston’s Choreographic Landscape, as a Dance Teacher whose Jazz and Modern Dance classes ignite joy and engage confidence in dancers of all ages, and as an Arts Administrator whose behind the scenes efforts have fostered some of Houston’s most supportive dance focused programs.
Join us on Saturday, September 26 as we celebrate twenty years of jhon r. stronks’ artistry and service to Houston Met Dance and the greater Houston Dance Ecosystem. Art supporters, artists, and friends will gather for a night of live performances, food, drinks and DANCING!!!
