Fall Back into Dance with an evening bursting with energy, music and the intoxicating spirit of dance. Bringing together an array dance genres, music and movement, This Houston Met Dance (HMDC) performance will inspire, enthuse, and entertain audiences. HMDC activates its goal of bringing together Houston based choreographic artists for the purpose of bringing to life an evening that embodies and incites the exclamation YAY DANCE!

On the program

Virtuosi of Houston a Premier Young Artists Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with HMDC faculty members and independent choreographers Brittany Bass, Lori Yuill, jhon r. Stronks.

Air, Fire Water places Virtuosi of Houston’s vision of helping young musicians thrive as performers, educators and arts advocates at the physical intersection of Bass, Yuill and stronks’ movement research and HMDC’s commitment to connecting artists. Devised through conversations around collaborative potentialities this work illustrates the desire to explore the space between disparate experiences in an effort to expand capacity and reinforce connection.

For 26 years Houston Met Dance has been committed to supporting the practice, creation and presentation of dance in Houston by providing supportive programming that help sustain the dance ecosystem. Through residency programs that provide choreographers with time in space, HMD is able to assist independent artists as well as small dance companies in continuing their open public classes, the creation and rehearsal of new work as well as opportunities to present these new works in HMD’s new performance space, The Phoenix Studio Theatre.

Virtuosi of Houston (VoH) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose vision is to help young musicians  thrive as performers, educators and arts advocates to give their expertise back to the community that helped develop them as young students. World renowned conductors founded by Andrzej Grabiec and Franz Krager in 1996. Our orchestra has evolved beyond just performing chamber music concerts. To give our students another avenue for their music education, Virtuosi instituted a small ensemble program where the students are coached in playing in a string quartet or other small ensembles.
